Sample Answer
People often fail to keep their promises due to a myriad of psychological and contextual factors. Primarily, the complexity of human emotions plays a crucial role; individuals may overcommit initially, driven by optimism bias or a desire to please others, only to find themselves overwhelmed later. Additionally, unforeseen circumstances, such as abrupt changes in personal circumstances or external pressures, can impede their ability to fulfill obligations. Furthermore, a lack of intrinsic motivation or personal accountability may lead to apathy towards commitments. In today’s fast-paced society, where time management and prioritization are challenging, individuals may unconsciously defer promises, perpetuating a cycle of unfulfilled commitments. Ultimately, these factors underscore the intricate interplay between intention, circumstance, and human behaviour, revealing that promises are sometimes more complex than mere verbal assurances.
