Sample Answer
In my opinion, bad news tends to have a more profound impact on individuals than good news, primarily due to the psychological phenomenon known as negativity bias. This cognitive tendency compels us to give more weight to adverse events and experiences, as they often invoke stronger emotional reactions. For instance, while a heartwarming story about a community coming together may evoke a fleeting sense of joy, a report of a natural disaster can instigate anxiety and fear that linger far longer. Furthermore, bad news often serves as a catalyst for societal change, prompting discussions about urgent issues and mobilizing action, as evidenced by movements sparked by reports of injustice or tragedy. Thus, while both good and bad news shape our perceptions, it is the latter that leaves a more lasting imprint on our collective consciousness.
