Sample Answer
Excessive exposure to news can be detrimental in multiple ways, primarily by fostering a sense of anxiety and helplessness. When individuals are inundated with alarming headlines and sensationalized reporting, they may develop heightened stress levels and a pervasive sense of dread regarding current events. This psychological strain can lead to diminished mental well-being, as people may find it increasingly difficult to disengage from a cycle of negative thinking. Furthermore, constant news consumption can warp one’s perception of reality, amplifying fears and misconceptions about societal safety and global stability. Consequently, individuals may become desensitized to violence and suffering, blurring the boundaries between empathy and apathy. In essence, while staying informed is crucial, an overabundance of news can erode both emotional resilience and social connectedness.
