Sample Answer
Indeed, the level of politeness has undergone a significant transformation over the past generations, largely influenced by cultural shifts and advances in technology. In earlier times, societal norms imposed stringent codes of conduct which emphasized respect and formal etiquette, particularly in communication. However, the advent of digital communication, such as texting and social media, has arguably fostered a more casual approach to interactions, often at the expense of traditional politeness.
While some may assert that this represents a decline in civility, others might argue that it allows for more authentic and straightforward expressions of thought. Furthermore, the globalization of cultures has introduced a melange of communicative styles, which can sometimes blur the lines of politeness. Thus, whether seen as deterioration or evolution, the concept of politeness is undoubtedly in flux, reflecting broader societal changes.
