Sample Answer
Indeed, I believe technology has significantly influenced communication skills, both positively and negatively. On one hand, the advent of social media platforms and instant messaging applications has expanded our ability to connect with others, fostering global communication and collaboration. This instantaneous form of interaction can enhance efficiency and facilitate the exchange of diverse ideas and cultures.
However, on the other hand, I contend that reliance on digital communication can impair our face-to-face interaction skills. The nuances of body language, tone, and emotional connectivity are often diluted in written formats, leading to misunderstandings and a potential erosion of interpersonal skills. Furthermore, the prevalence of emojis and abbreviations may hinder the development of more sophisticated language abilities. Thus, while technology undeniably enriches communication in many ways, it also presents challenges that could inhibit the depth of our social interactions.
