Sample Answer
Technology has profoundly transformed individuals' reading habits in several significant ways. Firstly, the advent of e-books and digital platforms has made literature more accessible than ever. Readers can now carry an entire library in their pockets, which undeniably caters to a wider audience and encourages reading among those who might have previously been deterred by the lack of physical resources.
However, this transition to digital formats has also resulted in a notable decline in the consumption of traditional printed materials. Many people find themselves skimming through text rather than engaging in deep reading, particularly due to distractions posed by notifications and multitasking on electronic devices. Furthermore, the brevity of online content often leads to superficial engagement rather than the in-depth analysis that physical books can facilitate. Thus, while technology has democratized access to reading, it has simultaneously challenged the depth and quality of readers’ engagement.
