However, in contemporary society, the advent of technology and social media has influenced how we commemorate these events. For instance, large-scale celebrations are often broadcasted online, allowing virtual participation, which can diminish the profoundness typically associated with personal gatherings. Furthermore, the commercialization of events like weddings and birthdays has led to an emphasis on extravagance and display rather than the intrinsic values of togetherness.
