Sample Answer
I believe that films serve a dual purpose; they can be both entertaining and thought-provoking. While it's entirely valid for a film to exist purely for entertainment—offering escapism, humor, or thrill—there's an undeniable power in cinema that transcends mere enjoyment. Films that encapsulate poignant messages can invoke significant societal reflections and inspire change, leading audiences to contemplate complex themes such as morality, identity, or social justice.
That said, the value of a film shouldn't solely hinge on its message. The emotional connection and the ability to provoke thought can be equally enhanced through entertainment. Ultimately, I think the most impactful films are those that strike a balance between engaging storytelling and deeper thematic exploration, thereby enriching the viewer’s experience on multiple levels.
