Sample Answer
One occasion when I was not allowed to use my mobile phone was during my final university exam last year. The exam was held in a large lecture hall on campus, and it was critical as it contributed significantly to my final grade.
As I entered the venue, I noticed that there were strict rules regarding electronic devices. We were instructed to leave our mobile phones in a designated area outside the hall to prevent any form of cheating. At that time, I was quite anxious because it was a subject that I struggled with, and I relied on my phone for quick revision and notes.
Initially, I felt an overwhelming sense of unease as I sat down at my desk. The absence of my phone made me feel disconnected and somewhat vulnerable, as it was my usual source of reassurance. However, as the exam progressed, I reminded myself that this was an opportunity to showcase my knowledge without relying on external aids. Gradually, I adapted to the situation and focused on the exam.
In conclusion, while I was initially apprehensive about not having my phone, this enforced disconnect surprisingly allowed me to concentrate better. I learned that sometimes, stepping away from technology can enhance our performance and help us engage more fully in the moment.
