Sample Answer

One memorable occasion when I received money as a gift was on my 21st birthday, which was just last year. My grandparents, who always seem to have a knack for sensing what I need most, decided to give me a monetary gift instead of a physical present. They handed me an envelope with quite a generous amount inside, saying they wanted me to use it for something special. Initially, I felt surprised and grateful. It was heartwarming to know that my grandparents wanted to support my aspirations. I explained to them how I had been saving for a new laptop, which I needed for my studies and projects. After receiving their gift, I carefully considered my options and decided to invest this money into purchasing a laptop that would significantly help me with my academic work. The experience of buying the laptop was thrilling. It felt like a rite of passage into adulthood, having the freedom to choose something that would aid my education. Overall, I felt a mix of appreciation and responsibility. It was a powerful reminder of my grandparents' love and support, and also of the importance of making wise financial decisions. Receiving money as a gift not only fulfilled a need but also allowed me to connect further with my grandparents, as I would often update them on my progress with the new laptop.
