"Starry Night" was painted in June 1889 while van Gogh was in an asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The painting depicts a dreamy interpretation of the artist's asylum room view, complete with a cypress tree in the foreground and a night sky filled with swirling stars and a bright crescent moon. This work is often viewed as an expression of van Gogh’s inner turmoil, yet it also embodies a beautiful spirituality. What I particularly appreciate about "Starry Night" is its ability to evoke strong feelings. The vibrant colors and dynamic brush strokes create a sense of movement and energy, which I find incredibly inspiring. It speaks to me about the beauty of nature and the complexity of human emotions. Moreover, it reminds me that even in times of struggle, one can create something profoundly beautiful.
