Who do you think should pay for the construction and maintenance of parks and public gardens? (Why?)

In my view, the responsibility for financing the construction and upkeep of parks and public gardens should be a collaborative effort among various stakeholders, including government bodies, local businesses, and community members. Primarily, local governments are best positioned to fund these initiatives, as they possess the requisite public funds and can allocate budgets in accordance with community needs and priorities. Furthermore, businesses should be incentivized to contribute, perhaps through tax breaks or promotional opportunities, as they directly benefit from a healthier environment that attracts customers. Community members, on the other hand, can play a pivotal role in volunteering their time for maintenance activities or even fundraising efforts. This collective approach not only distributes the financial burden but also fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility towards public spaces, enhancing community cohesion and engagement.
