Sample Answer
Digital or virtual toys, particularly video games, have become a prominent fixture in the modern childhood experience. On one hand, they can foster cognitive skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and hand-eye coordination. Many educational games have been designed to make learning fun and engaging, thereby appealing to children’s innate curiosity.
However, the potential drawbacks cannot be overlooked. Excessive screen time is associated with adverse effects on physical health and social skills, as children may become increasingly sedentary and withdrawn. Moreover, the virtual environment may expose them to inappropriate content or foster unrealistic expectations regarding life.
In balance, while video games can enhance certain skills, it is imperative that parents regulate their children's usage and encourage a diverse range of activities, both indoor and outdoor, to cultivate a well-rounded development.
