Sample Answer
Determining the appropriate age for a child to possess a mobile phone is not a straightforward matter, as it involves a confluence of various factors. Personally, I believe that the age of around 13 or 14 is generally suitable. At this stage, adolescents are typically entering high school, a time when social interactions intensify and responsibilities begin to surface. A mobile phone can serve as a vital tool for communication, particularly in emergencies or when coordinating activities with peers. However, the decision should also reflect the maturity level of the individual child and their ability to navigate the digital world responsibly. Furthermore, parents should remain involved, engaging in open discussions about internet safety and the potential pitfalls of excessive screen time. Therefore, while age is a critical component, it should not be the only criterion when considering mobile phone ownership.
