Sample Answer
In my view, giving expensive gifts can be a double-edged sword. On one hand, such gifts may serve as a tangible expression of affection and appreciation, conveying the depth of the giver's feelings or the significance of the occasion. However, I believe that this practice can also lead to a sense of obligation and materialism, undermining the essence of genuine relationships. When gifts are perceived as an assessment of worth or status, they risk overshadowing the heartfelt intentions behind them. Furthermore, the emphasis on monetary value can shift focus away from the emotional and sentimental aspects of gift-giving, reducing it to a mere transaction. In essence, while the allure of extravagance can be tempting, I contend that more thoughtful, personalized gifts often hold greater significance and foster deeper connections.
