By soliciting their input, parents can ease feelings of anxiety or uncertainty that often accompany such significant changes. Moreover, it provides children with a sense of agency, instilling essential life skills, such as negotiation and adaptability, which are invaluable as they grow. However, it is crucial to strike a balance, as children may not possess the maturity required to weigh all the implications of such a move. Ultimately, while their opinions should be considered, the final decision rests with the parents, who must navigate the complexities of the situation with a broader perspective.
