Sample Answer
In my opinion, the intrinsic value of a gift lies not in its monetary cost but in the thought and sentiment behind it. While spending lavishly on gifts may create a superficial impression of generosity, it does not necessarily convey genuine affection or understanding. Conversely, a thoughtfully chosen, less expensive gift can often be more meaningful, reflecting the giver's insights into the recipient's preferences and values. Additionally, excessive spending on gifts may inadvertently contribute to materialism, where the significance of the gesture is overshadowed by financial outlay. Ultimately, I believe the focus should be on the emotional connection and the act of giving rather than the price tag associated with the gift.
