Sample Answer
The way people allocate their leisure hours has undergone a profound transformation over the years, influenced by various societal and technological factors. In previous decades, individuals often engaged in face-to-face interactions, participating in communal activities such as sports, arts, or local gatherings. However, with the advent of digital technology and the proliferation of the internet, there has been a noticeable shift towards screen-based entertainment. Nowadays, people frequently indulge in social media, online gaming, or streaming services, which, while convenient, can result in a decline in physical social interactions as well as a sedentary lifestyle.
Moreover, the globalisation of culture has also played a role, with individuals now exposed to diverse leisure activities from different parts of the world. As a result, the modern conception of free time is paradoxically both more individualistic and more globally connected, reflecting the complex dynamics of today’s society.
