Sample Answer
In my view, while parents undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping our values and beliefs, labeling them as the ultimate guides in life may be an oversimplification. Parents often provide foundational wisdom rooted in their experiential knowledge, which can be invaluable during formative years. However, as individuals traverse through different life stages, they encounter diverse perspectives and alternative sources of guidance, such as mentors, teachers, or even peers. Additionally, the rapid pace of societal change today means that parental advice may sometimes be outdated or not fully applicable to modern challenges. Thus, while parents possess unique insights, I believe that a holistic approach—drawing from various sources—tends to be more beneficial in navigating the complexities of life.
