Research suggests that once a person surpasses a certain income threshold—sufficient to cover basic needs and some discretionary spending—additional wealth has a diminishing return on overall happiness. Furthermore, intangible factors such as relationships, personal achievements, and mental well-being play a pivotal role in an individual's sense of joy and contentment.
