Sample Answer
The adage "promises are meant to be broken" is, in my view, a somewhat cynical perspective on human interaction and integrity. While it is true that individuals may occasionally fail to honor their commitments due to unforeseen circumstances or shifting priorities, it does not mean that promises lack value. In fact, they often serve as a cornerstone of trust in relationships, both personal and professional. When people uphold their promises, they foster a sense of reliability and mutual respect, which are fundamental for any meaningful interaction. However, one could argue that flexibility is also crucial; contexts can change, and what once seemed like a feasible commitment might become untenable. Therefore, while the notion that promises are inherently fragile holds some truth, I believe that the intention behind a promise and the willingness to communicate openly about its feasibility are what truly matter.
