Sample Answer
One significant promise I made was to my younger sister, Lily, when she was preparing for her final year exams. The promise was that I would support her emotionally and academically throughout her revision period. I could see that she was feeling overwhelmed and anxious about the exams, so I wanted to assure her that she wasn’t alone in this challenging time.
The reason I made this promise was not just because I care for her, but also because I had been through similar experiences in my own school years. I knew how crucial it was to have someone encouraging by your side. I told her I would help her study, explain difficult concepts, and keep her motivated to stay focused.
Throughout the exam period, I made sure to keep my promise. I scheduled study sessions with her every evening and created a revision timetable. I even made some fun quizzes to make learning enjoyable. However, there were moments when I had to travel for my job, which made it challenging to maintain the same level of support. But I kept in touch with her through calls and messages to reassure her that I was always there for her, despite my absence.
In the end, it was incredibly rewarding to see her succeed and feel proud of the effort we put in together. This experience strengthened our bond and taught me the importance of keeping promises that mean so much to those we care about.
