Sample Answer
I’d like to talk about a time I had to apologise to my younger brother, Jake. This incident occurred about a year ago, and it was quite significant for both of us.
The reason for my apology was that I had promised to take him to the amusement park on a Saturday since he had been looking forward to it for weeks. However, at the last minute, I got caught up with work and had to cancel our plans. I could see how disappointed he was, and that really struck a chord with me.
When I spoke to him later that day, I sincerely apologised for letting him down. To my surprise, he was initially upset but quickly forgave me, saying he understood that sometimes adults have other responsibilities. His reaction showed a lot of maturity for his age, which made me feel even more guilty.
Afterward, I felt a mix of relief and remorse. I was relieved because he was forgiving, but I also realized the importance of keeping promises, especially to family. This experience taught me to manage my time more effectively and prioritize commitments, as well as to be more aware of how my actions can affect others. In the end, we planned another trip to the amusement park, which turned out to be a great bonding experience for both of us.
