Sample Answer
One memorable occasion when I made a promise was to my younger sister, Lily, last year. She had been feeling quite disheartened after struggling with her final exams at school, and as her older brother, I wanted to offer her some support and encouragement.
I promised her that I would help her with her studies and prepare her for her upcoming retakes. To ensure she felt more confident, I said I would dedicate at least three evenings a week to study together. This promise stemmed from my deep-rooted desire to see her succeed and know that she wasn't alone in her struggles.
I believed that by being there for her, I could alleviate some of the stress she was feeling. Additionally, the bond between siblings is special, and I wanted her to remember that she could always rely on me during tough times. After making this promise, I felt a mix of emotions. On one hand, I felt proud for stepping up to support her, but I also felt a slight pressure to deliver on my commitment. In the weeks that followed, as we spent time studying, I could see her confidence growing, and that filled me with joy. Overall, keeping that promise not only helped her academically but also strengthened our relationship, making me feel fulfilled and connected.
