Sample Answer
One memorable occasion when I had to change my plans due to the weather was during a much-anticipated camping trip with my friends last summer. Our original plan was to spend the weekend hiking and setting up camp in a beautiful national park. We had meticulously prepared everything, from packing our tents to planning our meals, and I was particularly excited about disconnecting from city life and enjoying nature.
However, as the weekend approached, the weather forecast predicted severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in the area. We tried to remain optimistic, hoping the weather would clear up, but as the day drew closer, it became clear that we could not proceed with our original plans. With safety in mind, we ultimately decided to cancel the camping trip.
Though I was initially disappointed and frustrated, I recognized that our decision was prudent. These feelings quickly shifted when we organized a last-minute indoor gathering at my house instead. We set up a movie marathon, cooked together, and even had a board game night. In hindsight, while it was disheartening to change plans, I learned how adaptable we can be. In fact, the spontaneous gathering turned out to be one of the highlights of my summer, and it reminded me that it’s not just about the destination, but the company that makes any experience worthwhile.
