Sample Answer
While receiving gratitude for helping others can be gratifying, I believe that the intrinsic motivation to assist—stemming from empathy and compassion—should take precedence. In a societal context, our acts of kindness often contribute to a collective ethos of support and goodwill. However, one must consider that the absence of acknowledgment doesn't diminish the value of the help rendered; rather, it can be a catalyst for personal growth and the cultivation of altruism. Furthermore, the expectation of gratitude can lead to a transactional mindset, which undermines the purity of genuine acts of kindness. Thus, while it is undoubtedly pleasant to be appreciated, the profound impact of helping others often transcends mere verbal acknowledgment, nurturing a deeper sense of community and shared humanity.
